It covers only what you decide yourself around the clinic you booked: where to stay, how to get there from the airport, and the days between treatments.
Before you go
- The VAT refund on cosmetic treatments for foreign visitors ended on 31 December 2025 and is not available as of October 2026. Bills to bring it back are in the National Assembly but have not passed. Older posts promising a tax refund no longer apply. The tax refund on shopping, such as cosmetics, is a separate scheme.
- The Medical Korea help line (1577-7129, from abroad +82-1577-7129) offers foreign patients interpretation, hospital guidance and consultation. It runs with support from Korea's Ministry of Health and Welfare.
- Medical institutions that take foreign patients must register with the government. In 2025, 62.5% of registered institutions (2,555) were in Seoul. Before booking, ask the clinic whether it is registered.
- How long to avoid saunas, body scrubs, alcohol and strong sun after a treatment differs by treatment. Tell your clinic when your flight home is and check with them.
