Photographs you can only take here
Hair lasts months and a craft object goes in a drawer. A photograph keeps showing, and it is the first thing you reach for when you get home. Korea has a few formats that do not exist elsewhere.
Check before you book
Some studios are strict about lateness.
More than five minutes comes off your shooting time, and beyond that can be treated as a no-show with no refund.
Original files arrive by email and are deleted after a while, so download them the day they land.
셀프 스튜디오
self studioNo photographer at all.
You sit alone in a private room with a remote shutter and take your own, changing the backdrop colour as you go.
The retouching is still done by a professional afterwards.
Many take one-person bookings only, and hair, make-up and clothes are not included.
Originals arrive by email and are deleted after a period, so download them the day they land.
What you leave with Retouched frames and originals, without having to perform for anyone.
프로필 촬영
peu-ro-pil chwal-yeongCloser to an editorial portrait than an ID photo.
Head and shoulders against a plain backdrop, with the photographer setting your expression and angle.
Koreans take these for CVs and profile pictures.
Hair and make-up are almost always charged separately.
Most studios retouch only the frames you choose and hand over the rest as originals, so check how many before you book.
What you leave with A few retouched frames and all the originals, delivered as files.
한복 스냅
han-bok snapShot outdoors in hanbok at a palace or a hanok village.
Some rental shops sell the clothes and the shoot together; elsewhere you rent the hanbok and hire the photographer separately.
The wide price range is real.
Hours, number of retouched frames and whether the hanbok rental is included all differ.
A three-hour package and a full-day one are not comparable.
What you leave with Pictures with a palace behind you, the only ones that need no caption.
Booking through this link costs you nothing extra — the price is exactly the same.
We separately earn a commission when the booking goes through.
Something to bring the trip home
Studios in Hongdae, Seongsu and Bukchon shoot Korean-style profile photographs. Some do the hair and make-up as well, and most want to be booked in advance.
Prices are what Klook showed on 19 August 2026. The self-shoot rooms carry none, because their listings only price up once a date is chosen.
