The iconic scene of the Yubong family descending a loess-colored path while singing "Jindo Arirang." This is a legendary moment in Korean cinema, shot in a 5-minute 30-second long take.
Climbing the hill at Dangri from Cheongsan Harbor leads to the filming location of the film 'Seo Pyeon Je'. This film became South Korea's first to surpass one million viewers and was shot across several regions in the Jeolla provinces, but this site is particularly famous for one iconic scene: the Yubong family descending the yellow clay road while singing 'Jindo Arirang', which is considered the film's most beautiful moment. Shot as a 5-minute-30-second long take, director Lim Kwon-taek loved this location so much that he rewrote the script to extend the scene. The winding stone walls here are charming year-round, with bright yellow rapeseed flowers blooming in mid-April and cosmos flowers appearing between late September and early October, creating a picturesque landscape against the blue sea. Beside the yellow clay road, a traditional thatched cottage where Song-hwa studied pansori has been restored. In front of 'Seo Pyeon Je Rest Stop Joomak', tables are available for visitors to enjoy makgeolli while taking in the surrounding views.
