What nobody tells you
You have the ticket; what is left is the day itself. None of these are in the seller notice. Each one is nothing if you know it and can spoil the day if you do not.
You may not be able to buy the ticket at all
Most Korean ticket sites verify identity by Korean mobile number, and without one you stop there. Interpark runs a separate site for international buyers — verify with your passport at ticket.globalinterpark.com, done by QR from your phone and good for a year. Which site a given show is sold on still varies, so find that out before tickets open. Starting the verification on the day is starting it too late.
A name that does not match your passport can stop you at the gate
This is the most common reason international fans are turned away. A different romanisation, or given name and surname the other way round, is enough. Enter it exactly as printed in your passport, character for character. If you have already booked, ask the seller before the day whether it can be corrected.
The confirmation email is not the ticket
What you need at the door is the QR code as the app renders it. An email or a screenshot can be refused. Treat your battery as part of the ticket — half a day in the merch queue does not leave much of it.
That famous BTS bus stop is not the original
The seaside stop from the album cover was put up for the shoot and taken down straight afterwards. The one people photograph today was rebuilt later, because so many came looking for it. Worth the trip — just not the trip you thought you were making.
This bus stop, in full ›You can catch the last train and still not reach Seoul
Some late trains stop short of the city centre. The last train from Goyang Stadium runs only as far as Samsong, and Samsong is still in Goyang. Check the venue page for where that train actually ends.
Last train, venue by venue ›No re-entry
At most venues you cannot come back out and in again. Buy water and food before you go through.
At an open-air venue you cannot use an umbrella
No roof. If it rains you get rained on — umbrellas are usually refused at the door, so bring a poncho.
A photocopy of your passport will not get you the tax refund
The refund desk wants the passport itself. Not a copy, not a photograph. Leave it at the hotel on the day you shop and everything you bought that day is done. The shop will handle the paperwork; nobody will hand you your passport.
Incheon has two terminals, and the wrong one costs 20 minutes
Korean Air, Delta and Air France use Terminal 2; most others use Terminal 1. Getting off at the wrong one means another 15–20 minutes on the shuttle. Check the terminal printed on your ticket before you leave. Finding out on the morning of your flight is too late.
Worth knowing
None of these will ruin the day. Knowing them makes it a great deal easier.
Standing is called by the number on your ticket
Not by who arrived first. The entry number you were given when you booked decides the order, so a late number means a late position however early you get there — and knowing it tells you what time you actually need to be there.
Doors open
They check your ticket against your ID. Bring your passport — many shows verify that the buyer is the one entering.
Bag restrictions
Large suitcases are usually refused. Coming straight from the airport? Leave it in a subway station locker on the way.
Nobody is turned away without one
It is not a condition of entry. No one minds an empty hand, and the show looks exactly the same. If this is your first concert, there is no need to buy one in advance.
Merch (MD) booth
Lightsticks and photocards sold only at the venue, and for a big show the queue starts in the morning. Arrive late and what you wanted is usually gone.
Everyone leaves at once
Thousands of people at the same moment: 20–30 minutes to reach the station, over 40 for a taxi.
The suitcase, on the day of the show
Land in the morning, show at seven, and a hotel will not give you a room until three. You spend the gap dragging a case. Leaving is the same in reverse — check out at eleven, fly at nine, ten hours in between.
Booking through this link costs you nothing extra — the price is exactly the same.
We separately earn a commission when the booking goes through.
Send the suitcase ahead
Services carry luggage from Incheon or Gimpo to a hotel in the city, and from one hotel to the next. Same-day delivery is available.
All general practice, and every show differs. Check the seller notice for the exact door time and merch hours.
