Convenience store combinations
It does not end at instant noodles and a rice triangle. Press the button for one combination at a time. No prices here: they differ by store and change often.
Drop the rice triangle into the noodles
Cook the noodles first, then drop the whole rice triangle in before the last bites so it soaks up the broth.
Needs the hot-water tap or the microwave. Both sit beside the till.
Three things to carry into the queue
The merch queue forms in the morning, and leaving it means starting again at the back. Buy before you join it.
Water, and the empty bottle
Toilets are a long way from a queue. Drink in small amounts. The empty bottle stays in the bag until a bin appears.
A heat pack in winter, a frozen bottle in summer
Both are in the store. A heat pack lasts longer against your back than in a pocket.
A power bank and a short cable
Announcements arrive in the queue and the ticket is on the phone. The shorter the cable, the less it tangles.
How the store works
- The hot-water tap and the microwave are beside the till or by the window. Use them without asking.
- Chopsticks, spoons and scissors are in the bin next to the hot water.
- Do not tear the noodle lid all the way off. Open it halfway and fold it back over.
Brand names are examples. A given store may not carry them, and no prices are printed here.
